Carnival of Gamers #19 - Late Night Addition
What do you do when the sun has set and the Carnival has closed for business? We do a light night TV edition of course!
Playing the part of video game pundit is Duncan Gough, and his hot topic is state of game mods and co-op play.
Next we keep the pundit’s rolling and get an unexpected rant about WoW from Silflay Hraka.
While we’re getting everyone’s opinions, Matt Wood has a a final verdict on Madden 07 for us.
Well, punditry is all well and good, but how about a word from our sponsor?
Want to find out about real analog gaming? Long to discover the earliest forms of multiplayer? Looking for a true hands on experience? Yehuda has just the thing and wants to educate you on how to love board games again.
Flipping channels we run head on into the Nintendo network. Might as well see what the big N is up to.
The odd punctuacted _leech_ wants to make sure everyone understands there is a different approach when comparing the DS to the Wii.
Jackie, on the other hand, is still waiting on the Wii.
Ah, Nintendo, is there anything you can’t do? Great stuff, but is that a talk show I saw while flipping through the channels?
Holy Bat Guano! Jay Barnson is Interviewing Scorpia!. I didn’t even know “Where are they now?” was on!
More flipping channels reveals the bizarre choices. We get men in tights acting immature. It’s not exactly Nacho Libre, and that’s a good thing!
We’re just in time to catch some sports highlights with peterb baseball button mashing. Later he’d like to show us his Dwarf Fortress.
Anything else on? How about some tawdry confessions from a pioneer game designer? As told by Chris Dolley.
Hmmm…online games are a waste of time but not a waste of money? Well, I can’t say too much about wasting time. Back to channel surfing!
You just never know what’s going to be on. Now we have crazy Raoul and his Game developer manifesto.
Of course you can’t have late night TV without Top 10 lists right? We have a whole bevy of them. Well, a few anyway -
Charles Husemann serves up a double whammy with 10 PS3 Prognastications followed quickly by 10 Wii Prognastications
Then Josh has his 10 Worst Playstation 3 reports (courtesy of Matt from Curmudgeon Gamer)
Well, it’s getting late but I see some Halloween specials are still on the air.
Corvus wants to Push the buttons of fear, but does he have to do it right before bed?
Tony’s hunger for brains is on the wane as Dead Rising is dead to him
Last but not least we have some belated Halloween spirit set in Guild Wars as experienced by Brinstar.
Thanks all for staying up late with me tonight. Be sure to tune into next month’s Carnival of Gamers.
EDIT - Late and so it’s not getting added to the theme, I’m going to be nice and add Virgin Worlds’ entry
What makes us go Ding?

I was going to do a Seaworld theme with pictures and everything, but it was just not coming together.
It was the three top 10 lists that made me start thinking of Letterman and it just went downhill from there!
